One in six Americans contract a food-borne illness each year, the CDC says. NBC4’s Barbara Harrison spoke with registered dietitian Joy DuBost about tips for keeping food safe to eat when grilling and packing picnics this summer. DuBost advised keeping cold food cold, separating raw food from other foods, cleaning produce, monitoring leftovers and washing your hands.
